We have a small number of paid staff who work in our office in Norwich but our services are provided almost entirely by a dedicated band of Volunteers.

The NDA has been working with volunteers since the formation of the Norfolk Hearing Support Service (NHSS) in 1991.  Many of our volunteers are hearing aid users themselves so they are in an excellent position to help new hearing aid users obtain the most benefit from their aids.  Volunteers can have a number of roles:

  • Helping with the Hearing Support Service
  • As a Befriender
  • Helping in our Assistive Listening Technology Clinic
  • By supporting the Friends of the NDA with fundraising events
  • Helping out in the office

It is our belief that everyone has untapped skills and qualities, so please let us know about yours.

We recognise that staff and volunteers are a fundamental resource to the organisation so we offer high quality, relevant training for our staff and volunteers.

We also recognise the value of diversity within both the service users whom we work with, and the staff and volunteers who provide the service.  So, whatever your background and skills, if you think you would enjoy helping by becoming a Volunteer and think you would like to find out more, then find out more about volunteering with us.
