Welcome to the Norfolk Deaf Association

The key objective of the NDA is to provide high quality information, support, awareness and communication services to young people and adults with all degrees of hearing loss in Norfolk.

Norfolk Deaf Association (NDA) is dedicated to improving the lives of young people and adults with all degrees of hearing loss. This is achieved by providing hearing aid maintenance, advice on assistive listening devices and communication methods, befriending, and support and information on hearing loss and other related conditions.  The pages on this site provide information about our services which are delivered by a small staff and an army of willing volunteers.

The NDA Still Supplies Hearing Aid Batteries

The Audiology Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (which includes Cromer Hospital) still supply batteries through the Norfolk Deaf Association's community clinics and mobile clinic.

However, you must now bring your NNUH hearing aid card with you when you collect your batteries.

Battery issue for hearing aids supplied by Queen Elizabeth Kings Lynn, James Paget University Hospital and West Suffolk Hospital is unchanged. Please bring your book or card and we will give you two packs of batteries for each hearing aid.

2018 clinic timetables now available

We have released new timetables for our Mobile Clinic, Community Open Clinics, and Assitive Listening Technology Clinics.

Notes from our 2017 APM

Our Annual Public Meeting (APM) was held on 21st September 2017 at the NDA offices where attendees heard about the work undertaken by the NDA and enjoyed an interesting talk about developments in asssitive technology from James Rowe from Action on Hearing Loss. The words spoken by all speakers were typed by an electronic note taker and displayed "live" allowing those with limited hearing to enjoy the presentations. A copy of the electronic notes are available for download here
